Photograpy
My other hobby is photograpy. My wife used to be the photographer in our family--having had some really nice cameras in her lifetime (she still does actually). However, I acquired my first digital camera in about 1998 or 1999. It was a Canon A50. I believe it might have been one of Canon's first digitals. I had the camera for about 2 years before I decided one day to get the book out and learn all about its features. I soon found myself using its features and putting photos on my computer. I also discovered Adobe Photo Elements for editing, fixing, and manipulating photos. I still use that software today--even though I also own Photoshop.
I do not claim to be good at photograpy...it is only a hobby. But I enjoy taking unusual pictures and am personally challenged by finding photo-worthy scenes to photograph. Some of my favorites things to photograph are bugs. I learned only recently how to use my macro-zoom without introducing blurriness. I've included a few here. Another favorite is unusual town or venue names. Some of those are here too. Then I also like to simply capture anything that seems unusual or out of the ordinary, or pretty, or "artsy".
Some of my photos are shown below, while others are categorized in the menus at left.
